The regular price covers everything including fuel, ice, all fishing tackle including rods, reels and line, bait, fishing licenses, boat/passenger insurance, maintenance and even fish fillet service. We will also provide breakfast, coffee, cold water/sodas, and halal lunch with snacks.
We make every effort to keep our rates as low as possible but we are also committed to providing a premium and halal fishing experience without over-crowding or compromising our faith-based standards.
What is not included is how you get to the marina (gas), where you will be living (hotel/home) prior to the trip, and parking at the marina (parking permit/pass).
Become an alumni/returning fisherman and you will always get a discount :)
Pay early before the early sea-bird discount, and you will get an additional discount.
Spouses, parents, children, and students are eligible for the 'family/student' discount.
The charter will provide all the fishing tackle and bait necessary.
You may bring your own supplies but it will not change the total price.
Please remember that we are not responsible for lost or broken items.
For example, if you want to bring your own bubbler mechanism to hold live bait, it will be your own responsibility.
"give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
There is plenty of time to learn and deck hands will be around providing advice, guidance, and trouble-shooting.
The deck hands will actually take the fish off the hook for you and assign you a number to keep track of all the fish you catch.
After the trip, they can fillet the fish for you, place into a bag, and you can then cook it to your own liking.
You will be smelling like fish all day though, but you'll get used to it :)
clothes (waterproof and moisture-wicking preferred)
extra pair of clothes and towel to change after the trip
sunscreen
sunglasses (polarized preferred)
hat
rubber sole non-marking shoes (water/deck shoes)
Large cooler to take home your catch (please leave in the car until we return)
Camera (Saltwater and cameras don't mix so please be careful with expensive cameras and equipment. And there is no reception out in the deep blue sea)
motion-sickness medications
extra snacks
Over the last 5+, we have noticed a higher chance of nausea at some point IF YOU DO NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATIONS.
We highly recommend prophylactic medications if you have a sensitive stomach (i.e. do not like roller coasters). Consider taking medication the night before +/- a few hours before to be safe. It is better to take medications before you feel it, rather than treat the first sign of symptoms. Fortunately, if you do get sick, most people feel better after one episode of emesis. Better out than in, I always say!
Natural ways to avoid nausea the night before:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks.
Eat light, bland foods (such as saltine crackers or plain bread).
Avoid fried, greasy, or highly processed foods (requiring longer digestion/metabolism)
Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Ginger, peppermint, lemon
Over-the-counter options include (drowsy and non-drowsy) anti-histamines:
dramamine (dimenhydrinate)
antivert (meclizine)
ginger chews
Prescription medications include (ask your doctor what is right for you)
zofran (ondansetron)
compazine (prochlorperazine)
scopolamine patch
There is a fee to park at the marina right in front of the ship, and plenty of space will be available in the mornings the earlier you arrive. We absolutely recommend carpooling to save on gas/fees/space. For example, it is approximately 1 hour travel time from New Tampa.
If the charter captain determines that a trip would be unsafe, we will cancel the trip and process your full refund. We generally know this information 48-72 hours prior to departure.
Bad weather and charter cancellation will gaurantee a full refund.
If you get sick or can no longer participate in this trip, you may request an automatic refund within 7 days of departure!
(there are people on the waitlist who need to be notified immediately)
No Refunds will be processed for late arrivals, personal scheduling delays, or cancellations within 24 hours of departure.
For the extreme 10-12 hour trips, it takes over 2-3 hours to get out deep, about 30-50 miles from shore. The water will be 100-200 feet deep. Big fish like colder, deeper waters.
